If you’re licensed, insured, and serious about building your trucking business with a reliable partner, we want you on our team.
Minimum Equipment Requirements
To ensure every truck meets DOT, shipper, and broker expectations, all leased-on equipment must meet or exceed the following standards:
Truck Requirements (Power Units)
- Age: 2016 or newer (Exceptions allowed with proof of excellent maintenance and cosmetic condition)
- Engine: 10-speed manual or automatic; must meet current emission standards (EPA compliant)
- Horsepower: Minimum 400HP
- Sleeper Cab: Required for OTR work
- Exterior Condition: No major dents, rust, or body damage
- Interior: Clean, functioning gauges and A/C; professional presentation required
- Maintenance Records: Required (must show consistent servicing and DOT inspection history)
- ELD Ready: Must have working ELD system (or install upon lease-on)
- Tracking Unit: Must allow GPS visibility for our dispatch and customers (Geotab, Samsara, Motive, etc.)
Trailer Requirements (If you own your trailer)
- Type: 53’ Dry Van, reefer or flatbed)
- Age: 10 years or newer
- Condition: Must be clean, odor-free, no holes, good floor, solid roof, and working doors
- Tires: 70% tread or greater
- Brakes: Must pass DOT inspection at time of onboarding
- Lighting: Fully functioning DOT lighting required
- Securement: Minimum of load bars and/or straps for general freight loads
If you don’t own a trailer, we may provide access to rental trailers under our leasing program or dispatch power-only loads.
Weekly Settlements & Payment Info
We pay fast and pay right—every time.
- Weekly Direct Deposit (Friday payouts)
- Fuel Advances available through EFS/Comdata
- Breakdown Assistance Fund access
- Escrow withheld for maintenance protection
- Settlement reports with full rate transparency
- No forced dispatch – but consistent work provided
All trips are verified with POD submission, and payment is processed within 7 days. We also offer Quick Pay options (2–3 days) for a small processing fee.
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
Personal Documents:
- Valid CDL-A (Class A Commercial Driver’s License)
- Valid Medical Certificate (DOT Card)
- Social Security Number (for background screening)
- Government-issued ID (Driver’s license or passport)
Business Documents:
- Copy of Truck Title or Lease Agreement
- Proof of Truck Insurance (if not using our insurance program)
- Signed Independent Contractor Agreement
- Signed W-9 Form
- Voided Check for Direct Deposit
Compliance Requirements:
- Must pass background check and MVR (No DUI in last 5 years; no reckless driving)
- Must pass FMCSA Drug Screening (Pre-employment & Randoms)
- Must agree to operate under our DOT authority and follow FMCSA safety regulations
- Must complete New Driver Orientation (remote or live)
Must allow real-time GPS tracking via our ELD provider
Insurance Requirements
Safety and liability are key. All contractors must meet these insurance minimums:
If Bringing Your Own Insurance:
- Auto Liability: $1,000,000 CSL
- Cargo Insurance: $100,000 minimum
- Physical Damage: Optional but strongly recommended
- General Liability: $1,000,000 (if required by shippers)
- Bobtail/Non-Trucking Liability (NTL): $1,000,000
- Work Comp or Occupational Accident Coverage: Required (you may use our plan if needed)
Proof of insurance must name Pete’s Ultimate Movers LLC as certificate holder and additional insured.
Need Insurance?
No problem. You can get access to in-house group insurance for:
- Auto Liability
- Cargo
- Bobtail
- Occupational Accident
Affordable weekly deductions can be taken from your settlements.
Operational Requirements
To remain in good standing with Pete’s Ultimate Movers, all contractors must follow these general operational requirements:
- Maintain 100% on-time pickup and delivery rate whenever possible
- Communicate daily with dispatch (check-ins, ETAs, delays, etc.)
- Respond to load tenders and confirmations quickly
- Keep trucks in clean and professional condition
- Submit all required documents (BOLs, logs, DVIRs) on time
- Notify dispatch of breakdowns or issues immediately
- Maintain a minimum of 2,000+ miles per week (unless off-duty)
We believe in building a high-performance team. If you’re consistently late, non-responsive, or neglect safety/compliance, we won’t be the right partner for you.
